“a dream of love” 愛の夢
A series of illustrations detailing a complicated conversation about love. From an original poem of mine written in 2024, I use watercolor paintings of dreamscapes and many self portraits to convey my feelings visually.
yesterday was a summer’s breeze
all i could see was the sweet aroma of love
a cloudy reflection of desire
このあいはむずかしいだよね。。。(this love is hard, you know.)
abby, what are you doing?
tomorrow, would it be the same?
the soft touches,
salty taste of tears,
quiet whispers,
quick giddy glances,
and the sweet aroma of love:
will it still all be there tomorrow?
of course it won’t be, abby!
WAKE UP!
when love is in your heart, all you can do is fill up your shoes with water and walk a whole hiking trail with them on.
being in love is never about the summer’s breeze,
it’s more like a hail storm that you can’t wait to get pelted with its rock hard ice.
and then you sit there wondering,
“why?”
but, then again, maybe not…
